Dr. Carter
Natasha Carter, MD PhD is a board certified Dermatologist who completed her residency training in dermatology at The University of California San Diego. Prior to coming to San Diego, she graduated from medical school at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon and she completed her PhD in immunology at Oxford University in the UK. She trained in a cancer immunotherapy lab and takes a special interest is using the immune system to fight cancers in the skin. Given her background in immunology, Dr. Carter also specializes in treating immune-mediated skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and rare blistering diseases. Dr. Carter is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatologist and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. She has been awarded the “Top Doctors” honor by San Diego Magazine in 2023.
Dr. Carter has a long track record of community service. She is a Volunteer Assistant Professor at UCSD where she teaches the dermatology residents every week and occasionally gives lectures to the medical students and internal medicine residents. She also works at a community clinic where she cares for uninsured, underinsured, homeless, immigrants and other underserved community members.
Dr. Carter came to San Diego with her husband in 2015. They both fell in love with the community here and decided to stay to raise their two young children. They enjoy exploring the city, beaches, and parks together as a family.
